Founder | Insurance Strategist
Lauren Shanks founded Kaia Insurance with a desire to provide her clients with true peace of mind. She is not new to the world of insurance. Lauren grew up learning from her mom, who owned and operated an insurance agency. Lauren loved helping her mom with tasks as a young girl, and she used the wisdom and experience from her mom’s mentoring to bring forth the next generation of success.
Known for her exceptional communication skills, passion for serving, and attention to detail, Lauren takes the time to listen to her clients’ unique needs and concerns. She believes that insurance isn’t just about policies and premiums; it’s about building relationships and providing security and protection.
Before building Kaia Insurance, Lauren led the insurance division at one of Austin, TX’s top wealth management firms. With over a decade in the insurance industry and a degree in business management from Sam Houston State University, Lauren’s business experience and education ensures client success. She firmly believes that knowledge is power, and she strives to empower her clients to make informed decisions about their coverage.
Lauren loves all things animals and outdoors. She can often be found volunteering in her community or enjoying nature, whether barefoot at the beach or simply spending time with her friends, family, and pets on the back patio.

Jeff Gonzales
Kaia Insurance Fiduciary Advisor
Jeff Gonzales is a fiduciary advisor serving Austin, San Antonio, Corpus Christi, and surrounding areas across Texas. Prior to joining Kaia Insurance, he was a fiduciary advisor at Trajan Wealth. There, he guided clients and their families in finding wealth management and annuity solutions.
Jeff previously worked at Teachers’ Insurance Annuity Association (TIAA) for almost 20 years. In total, he's worked in the financial services industry for 30 years, with extensive experience in defined contribution retirement plans, insurance, brokerage, banking, investor real estate, and comprehensive financial planning.
Jeff earned a Bachelor of Science in politics and government with a specialization in economics from the University of Texas at Dallas. He is proud of the fact that he worked full-time at The Home Depot to put himself through college. He holds the Series 65 registration and the Texas life, accident, health, and HMO insurance license. Jeff has held the Series 7, 24, 26, 51, and 63 registrations.
He is currently pursuing the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation.
Jeff has been a speaker at community seminars, media events, association meetings, and client forums. He was also featured in Financial Advisor Magazine and Yahoo Finance.
The center of Jeff’s life is his two boys, Jacob and Hayden, and his partner, Lauren. Jeff is very active in his community and church and is an advisory board member with the Cedar Park Youth Football Association, the Treasurer for the Cedar Park High School Football Booster Club, and is a mentor in the Cedar Park High School College and Career Pathways program. He loves freshwater and saltwater fishing.
Jeff’s mom is a retired teacher, and his dad is a retired banker. He feels he received traits from his parents that naturally enable him to educate his clients regarding complex financial topics.
